UNH 2007 Wildcatessen

  • Fast-track Summer Project
  • Completed 10 days ahead of schedule
  • Completed $60,000 below the GMP

North Branch was chosen Construction Manager for renovations at two dining halls at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH providing Pre-Construction and Construction Management Services for this fast-track 2007 summer project. Pre-Construction services began in early 2007 in preparation of the fast-track summer schedule. With the scope of work defined, North Branch prepared the project for bidding, solicited bids from our pre-qualified bidders list and provided the owner with a GMP in the early spring of 2007. The scope of work was completed simultaneously in two different dining halls on the UNH campus. North Branch installed a new dish room at the Philbrook Dining Hall and renovated the “Wildcatessen” at the Stillings Dining Hall. This was the third fast-track dining hall renovation project North Branch completed at the UNH Durham campus. North Branch was the Construction Manager for this $2 million project and CMK Architects of Manchester provided the design for the project.

North Branch began mobilization and demolition in mid May. North Branch’s expertise and aggressive management skills were able to complete the demo with little overtime, thereby saving both time and money for the University. This set the pace for the remainder of the project which remained ahead of the contract schedule and under the GMP, allowing approximately $120,000 of additional work to the project without creating a change order. Despite the added scope of work, the project was completed 10 days ahead of the contract schedule and approximately $60,000 below the GMP.
