North Branch Construction was selected Construction Manager for the Brown School Apartments in June 2006. The existing 3-story building was gutted (including lead and asbestos abatement) and converted into 16 apartment units. The 3-story addition includes 18 apartments. The facility was built Energy Star Compliant.
The building is owned by the Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority. Burnell-Johnson Architects provided the architectural design for the project. The project was completed in mid October 2007, at a cost of approximately $160,000 below the GMP and 2 weeks ahead of contract schedule.
