North Branch Construction Celebrates Groundbreaking at Londonderry Fire Station

(Londonderry, NH) The Londonderry Fire Department held a ceremonial groundbreaking celebration this morning at the Londonderry Central Fire Station, the site of the upcoming major addition and renovation project to be completed by North Branch Construction of Concord.

North Branch Construction was selected Construction Manager for the project in 2017. Project Manager Bruce Blazon and Marketing Manager Katie Lopes immediately began providing pre-construction services including estimating, pre-bond marketing initiatives, and assistance at town meeting presentations. The bond was approved at the March 2018 town vote, providing funding for $6,400,000 worth of much-needed improvements to the existing Central Fire Station located on Mammoth Road.

“We are very proud of our involvement with the Londonderry Fire Station project,” stated Joseph Campbell, President of North Branch Construction, “and we look forward to working with the exceptional team that has been put together for this renovation. We always appreciate the opportunity to provide New Hampshire’s heroes with the functional, comfortable, and safe facilities that they need and deserve. This project is going to have a very positive impact on the Town of Londonderry and its neighbors, and the groundbreaking ceremony today celebrated all the excitement surrounding everything that’s lead up to the project now coming to fruition.”

Once complete, the addition and renovation will provide the station with two additional apparatus bays, a separate decontamination room, expanded training and EOC space, a secure dispatch facility, and HVAC Systems Upgrades. North Branch Construction’s Project Superintendent Melanie Smith noted, “I am looking forward to the unique challenge of working around an active fire station while building the new additions. Sitework is underway and we are moving forward to prepare for building foundations. This will be a project I am proud to be part of.” Port One Architects from Portsmouth, NH is providing design for this project.
