North Branch was chosen as general contractor for the new assisted living facility called "Whitaker Place" after NBC value engineering produced a project cost savings of approximately $400,000 from the original bid estimate. The new facility is located on Borough Road in Penacook, NH. The $3.8 million facility consists of 48 units (50,000 square feet) on two floors and features half round activity rooms, a solarium, hair salon, library, whirlpools and a dining room with a commercial kitchen. The exterior site includes walking trails, gardens and patios.  There are 6 handicap accessible units and all units are handicap adaptable.

Site work began in mid July and by early September framing was well underway. The project included all new underground utility infrastructure improvements (including sewer and water) completed in October. Built during a boom in the economy, the project had a 3 week delay during framing, created by material availability; but, by increasing the intensity of the construction schedule, the project was completed 29 days ahead of contract completion date allowing tenants to begin occupying the facility May 1st.
