North Branch was chosen Construction Manager for this project in 2002 and worked with the Architect and Building Committee through the final design stage to develop the GMP. The project had been several years in planning and fund raising by St. Theresa’s and St. Mary’s Churches which have now joined together in this new church to serve parishioners from the Towns of Henniker, Hopkinton and other local communities. With the plans complete and final bids in, construction began in late September 2003 for the 20,000 square foot church. The new steel framed, slab on grade facility is located on Old West Hopkinton Road in Henniker. The project also included a 2,000 square foot rectory which was completed in June 2004. With foundations in place, the steel erection began in December 2003. By mid March the roof and exterior siding was complete. Worked continued on the interior finishes and was completed in July 2004 on schedule and approximately $200,000 (church and rectory combined) below the GMP. The Parish began welcoming parishioners in late July 2004. Sheerr McCrystal Palson Architecture, Inc. of New London, NH were the Architects for the project. |
