The Town of Henniker contracted North Branch to be the Construction Manager for their new Fire and Rescue Building. The project was unique in the fact that North Branch coordinated the work of both fire department and town volunteers as well as professional subcontractors to complete the project. The sitework, electrical work and interior painting were completed by the volunteer labor. The concrete and wood building consists of a 5,440 sq. ft. vehicle storage area and a two story 4,800 sq. ft. dispatch/meeting/housing area. The volunteer workforce coupled with low cost design elements enabled the project to be completed for less than $35 per sq. ft., significantly less than the going rate for a new fire station in 1994 of $70 per sq. ft. Christopher Williams of Meredith, NH was the architect for the project, which was completed in October 1994.
