The project included a complete gut of the 10,000 sq. ft. Corner Dormitory, plus the construction of a new 1,600 sq. ft. arbor addition. Construction work could not begin until after school graduation in early June 1995, yet had to be completed by the start of the fall semester in September. This required both extended work days and 7 day workweeks; the goal was achieved, however, and a certificate of occupancy was received for the new infirmary on September 8, 1995. Completion was achieved despite significant redesign, prior to the start of, as well as during, construction, due to budget considerations (the architect on this project was on board prior to the hiring of North Branch Construction). The renovated facility houses inpatient and outpatient areas, physical therapy and exercise facilities, and student health offices and function rooms. The project was completed at the Guaranteed Maximum Price. After completion of this project, we were subsequently selected as General Contractor for a multi-million dormitory renovation at the school.
