Twenty North Branch Construction employees recently completed training instructed by the American Red Cross to become Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certified. The course focused on teaching employees how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies with the use of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine. First aid response to emergencies such as head, neck, and back injuries; sudden illnesses; poisoning; and cuts, scrapes, and burns was also included in the training. The voluntary course was taught in two separate Saturday classes in May. With this training, North Branch employees are better prepared to handle health emergencies that can arise in the field as well as the home and office.
North Branch Construction’s dedication to providing unrivaled service in the construction industry has led to the creation of North Branch University – an in-house training system designed to advance the company’s workforce from within. Classes are taught by both experienced North Branch employees with specific areas of expertise, as well as outside instructors contracted by the firm. The skills taught at NBU are an investment in the company’s workforce and will continue to raise the standards and expectations of the firm’s team. Recent courses have included Commercial Siding Installation, Blueprint Reading, and Fall Protection. Future courses will include Laser & PAN (Powder Actuated Nailer) and Adobe Acrobat training.
