North Branch was awarded the contract to build a new manufacturing/office facility for Continental Microwave and Tool in Exeter, NH after a competitive bid which required value engineering. The new 86,000 square foot (including mezzanine) facility consists of a steel structure with masonry and EIFS siding.

Continental Microwave and Tool Co., a member of the Chelton Group of companies, produces rectangular and double-ridge seamless flexible waveguide assemblies, microwave components, waveguide sub-systems and special purpose waveguide components designed and manufactured to customer specifications. The Continental facility is a totally self-contained engineering, manufacturing and test organization which offers 2,500 man years of microwave component experience.

Sitework for the project began in Mid July with substantial ledge removal on the 10 acre site. A total of approximately 30,000 cubic yards of ledge was blasted and reprocessed on site. The foundation was completed by mid September and steel erection began September 21st. The exterior of the facility was completed in mid December. Construction continued ahead of schedule and construction on the project was completed on February 8, 1999, one month ahead of schedule.

Altered Spaces Architectural Designs of Hampton, NH is the architect for the project. Mechanical and electrical trades (approximately $2 million total value) were contracted directly with the owner.
