Somerville Street Fire Station, Engine No. 7, Manchester, NH
North Branch Construction was chosen general contractor (as low bidder) for this fire station addition/renovation project. Construction began in late September 1999 with a total gut of the existing brick building which was originally built in the early 1900s. Simultaneously, ground was broken for the addition and by mid November, the block walls were well underway. Steel was completed in November. The apparatus bays (formerly in the existing building) will move into the new 3 bay addition. The existing building has been renovated with all new interior finishes as well as all new electrical and mechanical systems. CMK Architects of Manchester, NH were the Architects for the project which will be completed in mid April, 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
